Given that they are a product of a crucial period in U.S. American, Vietnamese, and world history, Amerasian persons have been inadequately studied. This blog, in conjunction with my independent project for Anthropology at Colby College, attempts to introduce the history of Amerasian peoples during and after the Viet Nam American War. It explores the history of Amerasians and the relationships between American soldiers and Vietnamese women to the contemporary realities of Amerasians in Viet Nam and the United States. Through postings of articles, features, photographs, and an Oral history, I hope to modestly contribute to the growing collection of history and stories on these individuals.
